A Torticity alternative that stays on the frontier

TL;DR
- Torticity is a Boca Raton litigation tech-service company. On their public site they sell a connected stack (Dockit, Brief, CaseWise, TortEquity, data services) plus casework and Torticity Reach acquisition.
- Their stack keeps the firm in their browser and portal. Staff wait on their ship cycle.
- An alternative is not another lit-tech portal. It is the frontier workspace plus a firm brain (MCP) on Clio or Filevine, mail, and files.
- You will not out-ship Anthropic or OpenAI by living in a vendor portal. That home-surface rule is already live: live in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT.
- We dogfood. Conduit Law is the live PI-firm proof that marketing through intake, case, close, and trust/accounting can run on a connected stack, with staff not buried in admin, copy-paste, or twenty tabs.
- This is one spoke in the MSO and lit-tech alternatives series, not a ranked list of logos.
- Request demo if you want that layer mapped against one job on your stack.
What is Torticity, on their own site?
Torticity describes itself as a litigation tech-service company. Software plus casework. Not software only.
The contact page lists 2300 Glades Road Suite 400E, Boca Raton, FL 33431. The homepage names four practice areas: Personal Injury, Sexual Assault, Mass Tort, and Lien Resolution. Their technology page says the ecosystem syncs Dockit, Brief, CaseWise, and TortEquity. That is the on-page product set. This page does not invent extra modules.
Dockit is their proprietary operational tool. On-site copy says it simplifies workflows, centralizes case management, and runs back-office operations. The technology page also lists comprehensive management, medical record retrieval, OCR-driven record insights, and a specialty forms platform.
Brief is the law firm portal. The technology page lists inventory tracking, analytics, case and claimant details, and two-way communication. Staff log into Brief. That is their house.
CaseWise is the claimant-facing responsive web app. Claimants upload documents, track case progress, and communicate. The technology page also lists e-signatures and direct deposit.
TortEquity is positioned as data-driven legal investment and financier insights: case news, litigation insights, success and fallout data, and a stated methodology. Data services sit next to that stack: analytics and AI summaries drawn from their network.
Torticity Reach, on the case-acquisition page, pairs client acquisition with case management for Mass Tort, Personal Injury, and Sexual Abuse from first contact through settlement. That page states every campaign comes with a guaranteed conversion rate agreed before launch. The personal-injury page sells white-labeled case management from intake verification through records, settlement support, and lien work. They are a tech-service company. The portal is how the work is delivered.
What does an alternative to Torticity actually mean?
It does not mean rebuilding Dockit. It means the firm stays in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT, with a purpose-built firm brain on Clio or Filevine, mail, and files.
Torticity's stack is a house you move into. Brief is the firm portal. CaseWise is the claimant app. Dockit is the operations tool. Reach puts acquisition and case management under their roof. That can be a coherent service. It is still their software, their workflow, their ship cycle. The firm lives in the vendor's browser and waits on the vendor's roadmap.
Frontier models live at Anthropic and OpenAI. You will not out-ship those labs by living in a lit-tech portal. A twenty-person product team will not beat Claude Cowork or ChatGPT on software. The wrapper waits. The firm waits with it. That is the home-surface argument, applied to this vendor rather than to a generic legal-AI tab.
A firm brain is how staff stay in the frontier workspace with the file. MCP is the plug. FirmOps configures a short, approved menu on the CMS the firm already runs, then operates it. The Managed Firm Brain is the offer: purpose-built in partnership, then run. There is no boxed SKU that installs a brain, and there is no FirmOps clone of Dockit.
Keep Clio or Filevine. The brain sits on the CMS. Do not rip the case system to get a portal. The CMS comparison is already written in Clio Work vs Filevine vs a purpose-built firm brain. This page is not that bake-off. It is the Torticity-shaped version of "do not move house."
Where do you work, and who takes the margin?
The table is the decision. Not a ranking of FirmOps as a SKU against Torticity's logo, and not a clone-feature checklist.
| Live in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT, with a firm brain | Live in Torticity's portal and apps | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you work | Anthropic or OpenAI's workspace. Staff stay as those vendors ship. | Brief, Dockit, CaseWise, and the rest of their browser stack. |
| Whose UI you wait on | Anthropic or OpenAI. | Torticity's product and services roadmap. |
| Which model you get | The actual frontier model in that workspace. | Whatever model and summarization they wrap inside their tools. |
| Who takes margin | You pay the frontier vendor for the seat. The brain is a layer on your stack, not a wrap around the model. | A tech-service company that runs casework and acquisition in their software. That is the business. |
| CMS / mail / files stay yours | Yes. Keep Clio or Filevine. The brain sits on them, plus mail and files. | Work moves into their ecosystem. Your CMS is no longer the place the day happens. |
| Who dogfoods a live PI shop | Conduit Law. Marketing through intake, case, close, and trust/accounting on a connected stack. | Torticity's own network and service teams, on their stack. |
Read the table as a home-surface choice. Buying a records or settlement service can still be right. Making their portal the office is how the firm leaves the frontier. Adjacent named-vendor pages: Eve, Finch MSO, Orion Legal MSO. The index is law firm MSO alternatives.
Is this proven on a live firm, or a slide deck?
It is proven on a live PI firm. Conduit Law is the proof. Not a deck.
We dogfood. FirmOps is not a hypothetical stack. It already covers what a firm actually needs in one place: marketing, sales, intake, onboarding, case management, closing, settlements, trust, accounting. The people who built the brain already stay in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT with that stack connected. Conduit people are not buried in admin, data entry, copy-paste, or twenty tabs. Public-safe receipts are on the Conduit Law case study.
This is not a claim that Conduit sat on Dockit or Brief. It did not. It is the claim that a live plaintiff shop can run the full path on its own CMS, mail, and files, with a brain in the frontier workspace. That still sits under law firm operations, not under a new lit-tech category.
What should the firm do instead of moving into their portal?
Stay in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT. Keep Clio or Filevine. Put a firm brain on the stack so the file is in that workspace. Then have it operated. Do not move house to Dockit and Brief.
Pick one recurring job that currently dies between the CMS, the folder, and the inbox. Connect that job to the frontier workspace through a short, approved menu. Read first. Draft for review. A person releases the send. Phones stay human. That is one job under a Managed Firm Brain, not a catalog of products and not a white-label back office.
Do not treat FirmOps as a SKU on a best-of list. Do not wait on a vendor portal to catch Anthropic or OpenAI. They will not. If that first job is a fit, Request demo.
Questions owners actually ask
Is FirmOps a Torticity clone?
No. An alternative is not a clone of Dockit or Brief. It is staying in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT with a purpose-built firm brain. See live in Claude or ChatGPT.
Do we have to leave Clio or Filevine?
No. Keep the CMS. The brain sits on it. See Clio Work vs Filevine vs a purpose-built firm brain.
Is this the same as buying legal AI software?
No. Buying a tool gives you a tab. A firm brain is purpose-built in partnership, then operated. Category-level: legal AI software vs a firm brain.
Did Conduit use Torticity?
No. This is not a switch story. Conduit Law is the proof of a live PI firm on a connected stack, not a former client of this vendor.
How do we start?
Request demo. One job. We map whether the frontier workspace can see that job through a brain on your stack.

Live in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT, or get left behind
Staff must live in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT. A legal AI browser app leaves the firm behind. A firm brain (MCP) is how they stay there with the file.
What is a firm brain?
A firm brain is a purpose-built operating layer for one law firm, implemented in partnership, then run for that firm. Not a chatbot. Not a boxed product.
