SmartAdvocate and AI

SmartAdvocate runs your cases. A firm brain runs everything around them.

SmartAdvocate is built for high-volume personal-injury work, and its automation is strong inside SmartAdvocate. But your documents, email, texts, and billing live in other systems. A firm brain connects them all, so you can ask one question and get answers and drafts that span your whole stack, not just the case file.

See the proof

Tool-agnostic by design. We build on the case system you already run, not a platform we sell you.

The honest answer

Does SmartAdvocate automate intake and document assembly?

Yes. SmartAdvocate has workflow automation, rules, and document templates that move a matter along and assemble documents from case data. For a high-volume plaintiff practice, that is real leverage, and you should use it.

The ceiling is the same as any case system: the automation only sees what lives inside SmartAdvocate. It does not read the dec page sitting in your document storage, the carrier email in your inbox, or the client text in your phone system. And templated document assembly fills a form from fields. It does not read the actual file to catch that a record is missing or a policy is wrong. That gap is where a firm brain earns its place.

What a firm brain adds on top

One layer across SmartAdvocate and everything else.

FirmOps does not replace your case system. It connects it to the rest of your stack and reasons across all of it.

Reads across your stack

Not just the case file

SmartAdvocate, your document storage, email, SMS, billing. The brain holds them together, so it can answer questions the case system alone cannot and notice when two systems disagree.

Drafts from the real file

Not a template with blanks

Templated document assembly fills fields from case data. The brain reads the actual matter, documents, and correspondence, so the draft reflects the file as it is today.

Holds for approval

A person always releases

Drafts land in the requesting staff member's own email drafts, or behind approve, reject, and retry controls. Nothing leaves the firm until a human clears it.

Works with your setup

Tool-agnostic by design

We build on the case system you already run, SmartAdvocate included. You do not switch platforms. We connect what you have, as long as your systems expose the APIs we need.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Does a firm brain replace SmartAdvocate?

No. It sits on top of SmartAdvocate and connects it to your other systems. You keep SmartAdvocate as your case system; the brain adds a layer across everything else.

Can SmartAdvocate automate client intake and document assembly on its own?

Yes, within SmartAdvocate. It has workflow automation, rules, and document templates that move matters along and assemble documents from case data. A firm brain extends that across your documents, email, and billing, and drafts from the actual file rather than a template.

Do I have to switch case systems to work with FirmOps?

No. FirmOps is tool-agnostic and builds on whatever you run, including SmartAdvocate, Clio, and Filevine. We only need your systems to expose APIs we can connect.

Does the AI send anything to clients on its own?

No. Documents draft into a staff member's own email drafts, and automations sit behind approve, reject, and retry controls. Live client calls stay with people.
